Greater Cleveland Triathlon 2008
We had an awesome time at the Greater Cleveland Triathlon last Sunday. We got up at 3:30 am and left at 4:00 am to get there early. We set up our tent, unloaded our gear and got ready to have some fun. Kelsey and Laney were there with their party horns and cow bells ready to cheer on daddy and the rest of our Medina team!
The Medina families of Pat Berarducci, Connie Gardner, Susan George, Krista Hughes & Becky Steiner hung out at the SupportYourTriathlete party tent all day (when they weren't cheering on their Triathlete).
There were two other Medina triathletes at this event that we have yet to meet, John-Erik Burleson & Mary Miller. If anyone knows them, please send them our way!
Image shown is Ryan Hughes, Laney Burns, Kelsey Burns and Patrick Hughes all of Medina supporting their families. Thank you to Century Cycles for posting this pic on your blog. Of course it helps that Ryan and Patrick are sporting their Century Cycles shirts in this pic! Kelsey and Laney are sporting their SupportYourTriathlete shirts featuring "Swim Daddy Swim, Bike Daddy Bike, Run Daddy Run" on the front.
The weather was AWESOME and we had a great time! However, we were all in bed at the Burns house around 7:30. (so worth it!)
Thank you to Rick Noland of the Medina Gazette for the triathlon article featuring all of our Medina triathletes in this weeks Local Corner of the Medina Gazette. YOU ROCK!
Chicago is next for us!

Whirlpool Steelhead Triathlon 2008
The weather was AWESOME but the swim was canceled at the Whirlpool Steelhead Half-Ironman Triathlon.Awesome drive from Ohio!
We stayed at the Hampton Inn St. Joseph. Very nice accomodations. Most of the athletes got up around 4am and the staff was VERY hospitable.
We checked in on Friday and we were even able to get a mini-fridge for our room. Just ask the front desk... (something I didn't know).
This hotel was only about 7 miles away. It worked out perfect!
The beach at Jean Klock park was white sand. It was "really rough" to be a spectator that day (kidding!).
Every triathlon is just another vacation for me! Lovin' the Triathlon Life!

Home From Ironman
We got home from Ironman Lake Placid late Monday night. What a beautiful drive. Wouldn't you know the weekend was BEAUTIFUL except for the day of the race... it POURED down rain all day. It was almost unbelievable. Check out all the umbrellas and ponchos.
We still had a great time despite the weather. JB is all signed up for next year. We booked our condo and we're all set. Now it's time to start getting organized.
We have two events coming up. JB's competing in the Whirlpool Steelhead 70.3 next weekend and then the Accenture Chicago Triathlon in August.
